About the event
The Feast of Samhain: when the barriers between our World and the Next come down, and the dead roam amongst the living. On this macabre night are you brave enough to embrace the darkness, slip in to the deep and face the terrors that lie beneath?
By deep: we mean Bournemouth Pier. By terrors: we mean the usual bass, wrasse and few unusual critters (giant squid not guaranteed). By darkness: well - we mean that bit!
Join us for a spooky night dive under the pier. Max depth 8m, we’ll be down for a max of 45min on the slack tide. This is open to all qualified divers. If you have night diving experience: that’s great. If not: you’ll need to be buddied up with a suitably experienced DL / ADI for your first dip in the dark.
Every diver must have at least one working dive torch and surface whistle / air horn. Water temp is around 15-16°C at present but please have warm kit available for immediately after the dive.
We will meet in the Bath Road car park by the pier at 1800 to kit up. The car park will cost at least £5 for parking so try and buddy up with cars. Barracudas members can rent kit at the usual rate, please let us know kit requirements at least 48hrs in advance.
This is a free event but please confirm attendance via the website. Final dive list will be confirmed the weekend before to ensure night-dive novices are buddied-up appropriately. We are heading in to low season so the dive may be cancelled at short notice due to wind or poor viz.
